ADB, KfW subsidiary invest $85.5 million in Welspun Renewables

Climate Connect News, 23 June 2014, New Delhi: Welspun Renewables Energy Limited has secured funding worth US $85.5 million as Asian Development Bank picked up stake in the company and a subsidiary of the German development bank KfW has invested in the company through debentures. 

The ADB has picked up equity stake in the company worth $50 million (Rs 310 crore) under the former’s ‘Solar and Wind Power Development Project.’ Under the project, the bank would facilitate installation of 200 MW of solar power and 100 MW of wind energy capacity by March 2016. ....
