China's wind energy installed capacity increases to 56 GW, up 34%

Climate Connect News, 04 January 2013, London: China continued its domination as the leader in the renewable energy installed capacity. The country's wind energy capacity reached 55,890 MW at the end of October 2012, registering an increase of 33.9% while the hydro power capacity reached 206,320 MW. 

The growth of renewable energy capacity in China has been significantly more than the global average growth. The global average growth of wind energy capacity over the last 10 years was 25% while growth in solar energy capacity was 44%. ....
