Proposed recommendations could push RGGI carbon price to over $10

Climate Connect News, 08 February 2013, London: Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) has proposed sweeping changes in its statuary and regulatory processes that could push the prices of carbon allowances to about $10.20 per tonne. The program which covers nine northeastern states in the United States has brought significant benefits in terms of carbon emission reductions since its launch in 2006. Between 2006-2008, the program led to fall in cumulative carbon emissions of the 9 states by 23%. ....
