Punjab solar policy announced, plans to add 1,000 MW by 2022

Climate Connect News, 08 February 2013, New Delhi: Punjab plans to add 1,000 MW of solar power capacity by 2022 as part of its overall target to increase the share of renewable energy sources to 10% in the total installed capacity by 2022. The Punjab government has announced the New & Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE) 2012 policy which covers ambitious capacity addition targets for hydro power, biomass, waste-to-power and solar power technologies.
