Share of wind energy in REC increases by 22% in 2012, total capacity crosses 2,000 MW

Climate Connect News, 31 October 2012, New Delhi: While the Indian wind energy sector, on the whole, is suffering from a slump, wind energy under Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) scheme has hit another milestone. Wind energy capacity under the REC scheme has crossed 2,000 MW. Over 520 wind energy projects from seven states – Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu – have been accredited since the REC scheme was launched in November 2010. ....
